Effortless 30-Minute Taco Skillet: A Busy Mom’s Savior In the chaotic rhythm of a busy mom’s life, dinnertime often feels like a daunting challenge. Juggling work, family, and responsibilities leaves little room for an elaborate meal. So, when I asked my busy mom friends what they wanted to see in this 30-minute dinner series, their response was resoundingly clear: simplicity reigns supreme- quick and hassle-free recipes, craveable dishes that required zero chopping and made use of ingredients typically found in the pantry.

Out emerged the Taco Skillet—a simple, yet flavorful meal that graces the table in less than 30 minutes, with the added bonus of optional chopping. This Taco Skillet not only satisfies hungry bellies but also yields a generous batch, with possible leftovers if your family doesn’t devour it all in one go.

Ingredients:

  • ground turkey– you can use turkey, chicken or beef
  • onions– sub for onion powder if you don’t feel like doing any chopping
  • salsa
  • black beans– drained and rinsed
  • corn– drained
  • taco seasoning
  • cilantro
  • toppings– shredded lettuce and tortillas chips are a must, adding the perfect crunch. I also love sour cream, avocado, extra cilantro and onions on top!

Serve in bowls or plates, and let your family members customize their servings with a variety of toppings. The crunchy texture of shredded lettuce and crushed tortilla chips adds an irresistible element to every bite, complementing the rich flavors of the skillet. The beauty of this Taco Skillet lies not only in its simplicity but also in its versatility. Feel free to swap out ingredients based on what you have on hand or dietary preferences. Whether it’s ground beef instead of turkey, or different varieties of beans, the recipe welcomes creativity and adaptation.
