Here are a few ideas to round out your meal:

• Roasted Potatoes and Green Beans: This classic combo is perfect alongside the rich flavors of French Onion Chicken. Simply roast your potatoes and green beans while the chicken finishes cooking in the crockpot.

• Over Mashed Potatoes: Spoon the juicy chicken and caramelized onions over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes to soak up all the flavorful broth.

• Make Sandwiches: French Onion Chicken also makes a killer sandwich. Grab some crusty rolls, place the shredded chicken and onions on the bread, add a little extra cheese, and pop it under the broiler for a few minutes until it’s melty. You’ll have a hearty French onion chicken melt! Get Creative with Cheese! One of the best parts of this recipe is the cheesy finish.

While mozzarella or aged American are always crowd-pleasers, don’t be afraid to switch it up!

Here are a few other cheese options to try:

• Gruyère: For that classic French onion flavor, Gruyère is the go-to. It melts beautifully and adds a nutty richness.

• Swiss: Another great option that melts nicely and brings a slight tang to balance the sweetness of the onions.

• Provolone: Mild and creamy, Provolone is a family-friendly choice that pairs well with the savory chicken.

Busy Mom Tip

To save even more time, slice the onions and prep the seasoning the night before. In the morning, all you have to do is add the ingredients to the crockpot and go!

This is also a great dish to meal prep. You can double the recipe and use the leftovers for sandwiches, wraps, or even toss them into a pasta dish.
