There are some recipes that instantly feel like comfort food — and this potsticker noodle bowl is one of them.
This potsticker noodle bowl is everything I crave in a weeknight dinner: savory, cozy, slightly saucy, and incredibly satisfying. It tastes like a giant bowl of dumplings without the time commitment of actually folding dumplings. No wrappers. No pleats. No stress.
And yes — real talk — I originally tried boiling the wonton noodles separately like pasta… and they completely stuck together. If you’ve ever battled egg or wonton noodles, you know they can turn into one giant noodle brick if you blink wrong. So I pivoted, tested again, and landed on what is honestly the best method anyway: cooking the noodles directly in the skillet.
One pan. No clumps. Way more flavor.
This is now officially potstickers in a bowl, and I’m not mad about it.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
One skillet, no boiling water required
High-protein and veggie-packed
Tastes like dumplings without the work
Perfect for meal prep and reheats beautifully
Totally customizable based on what’s in your fridge
If you love cozy, takeout-inspired meals that feel homemade and nourishing, this one’s for you.

Why Cooking the Noodles in the Skillet Works Better
I tried boiling the noodles first and they immediately stuck together — classic wonton noodle behavior. These noodles release a lot of starch and need constant stirring, and even then they can clump once drained.
Cooking them directly in the skillet:
Hydrates them evenly
Prevents sticking
Infuses flavor instead of rinsing it away
Makes this truly a one-pan meal
If you’ve ever had noodle drama, this method will save you.
Tips for this Meal Prep
Store everything mixed together — don’t separate noodles and protein.
Add a small splash of broth before reheating to loosen the sauce.
This keeps well in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Great for lunch bowls or quick dinners all week.

Potsticker Noodle Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken or turkey
- 8 oz fresh or dried wonton noodles
- 3 cups shredded green cabbage or coleslaw mix
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1-2 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 3 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1-2 tbsp hoisin sauce or oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1½ cups chicken broth plus more as needed
- Optional heat: chili crisp or sriracha
Optional Add-Ins
- Sautéed mushrooms
- Shelled edamame

Let's Make It
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground chicken along with garlic and ginger. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Stir in soy sauce, hoisin (or oyster sauce), rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Let everything simmer for about 1 minute so the flavors bloom.
- Add the shredded cabbage and cook 2–3 minutes, just until softened but not mushy.
- Add the dry wonton noodles directly to the skillet. Pour in 1½ cups chicken broth.
- Cover the skillet and let simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally to separate noodles.
- Remove the lid, toss well, and let everything cook another 2–3 minutes until noodles are tender and the sauce thickens slightly. Add more broth if needed.
- Taste and adjust seasoning. Finish with chili crisp or sriracha if you like heat.
