Everyone loves a good burger and these definetly bring the flavor! this combination of smokey and flavorful ingredients, this is one you will love time and time again.

I like making burgers for meal prep because they don’t take much time or effort and they are so customizable! Turkey burgers are leaner than beef and tend to dry out a lot quicker. I’ve come up with the perfect recipe to keep these super juicy, with a little heat!

What you need to make these-

  •  lean ground turkey- I would not reccomend going anything over 94% lean . Like i said, turkey does not have as much flavor as beef and tends to dry out. The fat from the turkey adds flavor and keeps it juicy. As always, try to buy as natural/organic as possible. I love the ground turkey at trader joes!
  • 1-2 diced jalapenos- how spicy do you want them to be? I reccomend not adding in the seeds, but definetly add more depending on the spice level you desire
  • diced red onion – sub for any other onion, green, white, yellow
  • cilantro- adding some fresh herbs to this birngs some much flavor, but if you don’t have any, it wil be fine to omit
  • paprika
  • cumin
  • minced garlic- fresh is always better, but dried , works, too!
  • shredded zuccchini- this is what helps the burger from drying out and plus, it’s sneaking in some extra veggies! I just use a cheese grater to shred mine, takes just a second, no need to drain the liquid.
  • egg- adding an egg binds the ingredients together
  • pepper jack cheese- adds more flavor and a little more heat, feel free to sub for cheese of choice
  • bbq sauce and ranch- i love anything Kinders and this mild BBQ sauce is my fave!

Let's Make them!

  • you always want to have all of your chopping done first, this helps things go a little smoother and I always like to keep a large bowl in my cooking area for trash, save you time!
  • preheat your oven to 425 and get those sweet potato fries in the oven to cook while you prepare the burgers!
  • mix all of the ingredients for the burgers, except for the bbq sauce and cheese into a bowl, mix until combined and divide into 4 patties.
  • you can cook these on the grill, in a frying pan or griddle or even in the oven. I prefer the frying pan because it’s quick and easy!
  • when the burgers and fries are done and completely cooled down, you can assemble your meal prep contianers with the salad, burger + fries
  • I love topping my burger with Kinders Mild BBQ sauce and my salad with ranch!

feel free to customize this burger + salad + fry combination however you like!

store these in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

warm the burger and fries up on the lid of your container for 1:30 seconds and add back into the salad, drizzle with ranch and BBQ sauce!

I hope you enjoy these!
