Let's Make It
Heat up the grill or pan to a medium high heat.
Slice 3 thick slices out of a red onion, keeping them in a whole.
In a large bowl mix together the turkey, salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, paprika, jalapenos, cheddar cheese and bbq sauce. Roll the mixture into 3 large patties.
Drizzle a little bit of olive oil over the flat top and lay down 3 slices of onion. Place one burger patty over each onion slice and grill for 5 minutes. Flip the burger and continue cooking until the burger is done, flipping every once in a while until the burger reaches an internal temperature of 165℉. Don't forget to top the burger with pepper jack cheese for the last couple minutes of grilling!If you are cooking these on a regular grill, just smash the burgers into the onions before adding to the grill!
Layer the burger with smashed avocado at the bottom, the burger patty, sriracha bbq sauce, lettuce + tomato.
