Baked Oats Vs. Overnight Oats

I have never been a fan of overnight oats! They have the weirdest texture, are soggy, cold and just gross. I get the concept, they’re easy and convenient, but why not just bake them?

Thats why I love these glass meal prep containers- they can go right into the oven. They make it so easy for you to prepare your meal prep, cook and store all in one container, leaving no clean up!

Ingredients:

Oatmeal is so customizable! You can switch out the sweetner, fruit and milk for whatever you want, but this is what I love in mine!

  • gluten free oats: I get mine at trader joes
  • banana
  • frozen blueberries: fresh will work, too
  • unsweetened almond milk
  • maple syrup
  • chia seeds
  • nut butter: I do peanut butter
  • cinnamon

Let's Make Them!

So simple here, you just throw it all in the container, stir and pop it in the oven!

But……

If you don’t have these little containers, you can always make these into bars in an 8×8 baking pan, just times the recipe by 6!

Start by mashing 1/4 of a banana into each container and then add in all of the other ingredients:

– 1/3 cup of almond milk

– 1/4 cup of oats

– 1/2 tsp chia seeds

– 1/2 tsp cinnamon

– 1/2 tsbp maple syrup

– 1/4 cup blueberries

  • Stir each container and then bake for 30-35 minutes at 400℉
  • When the oatmeal is compeltely cool, top with nut butter, place the lid on and store in the refrigerator for up to 6 days!

Let me know if you try this!

Tips for this Meal Prep

If you are making these oats with the chipotle lime chicken bowls, you are going to want to lower the temperature of the oven to 400 and then put these in the oven after the chicken is done cooking.

I always take care of the  main protien first and while that is cooking, i chop my veggies, cook rice and start preparing the breakfast.

These Baked Oats have no clean up at all, so as they cook I clean up the kitchen and then after they are done cooking and have cooled- just throw the lids on these and your’e done!
