Healthier Apple Crumble

This version of apple crumble is perfect when you’re craving those warm, cinnamon-spiced flavors without all the butter and sugar that typically comes with a pie.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp corn starch
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp water

for the topping:

  • 2 tbsp gf flour or flour of choice
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp oats
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Let's Make It
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375℉
  • In a small bowl, combine the thinly sliced apple, corn starch, cinnamon, maple syrup, water and lemon juice. Toss to coat the apple slices evenly. 
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the gluten-free flour, coconut oil, salt, oats, and maple syrup. Use your fingers or a fork to combine until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  • Place the apple mixture into a small baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples. 
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden and crispy. 
  •  Let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm with a dollop of vanilla Greek yogurt on top.
