Ingredients
  

  • 5-6 Italian sausages mild or hot, your choice
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 orange bell pepper sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil chopped
  • 1 jar 24 oz Mezzetta marinara sauce (or your favorite)
  • 1 lb pasta penne or rigatoni work well

Let's Make It
 

  • Layer sliced onions and peppers on top of the sausage.
  • Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the top.
  • Add garlic and basil. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours (or low for 6–7 hours).
  • Near the end of cooking, boil pasta according to package directions.
  • Slice or chop the cooked sausage, return to the crockpot, and stir in the pasta.
  • Let everything combine for 20–30 minutes on low until pasta absorbs some sauce.
  • Serve warm with extra basil or Parmesan cheese if desired.
